Sun, Sea, Sand, Surf and Sevens!!!
Yes we've done it! We've finally had the brain wave of coupling
the country's favourite summer party town with the country's
favourite summer sport! The Acorn Newquay Surf 7s Rugby Tournament
in Cornwall 2008 are upon us.
This coming July, Newquay will see a festival of rugby to
rival any in Europe. Over 90 teams will battle on the sevens
pitch within five separate competitions. The weekend will
cater for all standards, from local club sides right through
to the best sevens rugby has to offer in the Men's Invitation
Competition. The Invitation, Men's and Women's Open events
are now full and included some of the very best teams in the
country including; Scorpions, The Army, Stash All Stars, Kooga
Wailers, Apache, Samurai International, Susies Exiles and
Adidas Marauders to name just a few.
Due to overwhelming interest we have increase the size of
the Sunday Competitions, The Skinner's Club and Skinner's
Pub Competitions, to 24 teams but both only have a few spaces
left. So if you're into weekends spent lying in the sun, playing
a bit of rugby and having the odd shandy or two, then enter
your team straight away!
For those who like the easier pace of life this pomises to
be the spectator event of the summer featuring top class 7s
rugby with a curtain raiser of the Classic Lions! What more
could you wish for?
